It has been a while since my last post. I have been creating new artwork, managing my social media accounts, putting together material for my next book and trying to prepare for my next art exhibition. As you can see, there is a lot more to being an artist than just making art none the less I will endeavor to post on a more regular basis.
I have always been fascinated with mythology and often I find myself inspired by it. As I watched a storm and heard the cracks thunder, I pondered all of the weather disasters happening around the world, suddenly with a flash of lightning, I saw my inspiration in the sky.
A lot of things happened yesterday many things that drove me to the point of extream anger. The nature of the offense that pushed me to the point of wanting to scorch the sky and salt the earth is of very little consequence. What is important is the fact I choose to create rather than destroy.
As an artist, I have never been one for blogging. I was always under the impression people would be more interested in my completed artworks than the convoluted thoughts that make up my creative process or the quite mundane events of my everyday life but due to popular demand, this blog post will now be used as my narrative and artist log.
On February 9, 2017, CreativeInn interviewed Mark Humes, a great digital abstract artist, the owner of Mark Humes Gallery. He lives in Kenosha, Wisconsin, United States. Mark answered each question as sincerely as he could, and he is just amazing in every way. Read further to know about the interview.
His abstract works speak of a million messages and powerful feelings. For Humes , abstract art utilizes the visual elements of forms, shapes, lines and colors to make artworks that do not imitate nature .
I woke up late today's almost as if from torpor around 1:00 pm. With that in mind, I set out right away to create today's artwork. I was in kind of a dark place today maybe it was the deep sleep I can not say for sure so I figured I might as well embrace it and sought out the kind of music that would put me in focus to that mood.
As with all Mondays, this one started out slow and true to form as the artist that I am my mind went right to the question of what am I going to create today. Seeking my inspiration, I went cruising Youtube for new and interesting music that might work as a muse for me, and sure enough, I found it.
Since I have made up my mind to make this blog an artist log, That is exactly what I am going to do. I am going to keep this blog about my life and times as an artist. I will appoligize in advance if that does not excite you but I honestly could careless about celebrity gossip, politics or pushing anyone's cause.
