Q & A With artist Mark Humes About And chaos laughed
Why Did you make And chaos laughed?
I have found that whenever I make plans unforeseen forces seem to arise that seem to be working against me. So I wanted to give this phenomenon a form to make it easier to deal with when this happens. It's my way of making it a living thing that can be dealt with.
What does And chaos laughed represent?
It represents there does seem to be an intelligent force behind life and it seems to have a bad sense of humor. It could be our subconscious working against us, or something more paranormal in nature all I know is this force of active chaos exist and I wanted to give it a face and a form.
What inspired And chaos laughed?
The feeling of an invisible force working against you. You make careful plans and think you accounted for everything and wham! Things happen outside your control to stop them. I seem to have a habit of forgetting this can happen so I wanted to capture it in the artwork so I never forget a chaos attack may be coming so I am ready for it.
How did you make And chaos laughed?
I used the touchpad on a laptop computer and a now obsolete graphics program I chose to keep a trade secret.
What does The artwork And chaos laughed mean?
It means we need to understand life is uncertain and chaos is just around the corner. A million things we never think of or plan for can and will happen and we need to be ready to adapt because chaos is out there laughing at you when you make plans.
